If you are familiar with our other site (www.GreyhoundLays.co.uk), then you will already know that we have a long, proven track record of providing our subscribers with lay selections that routinely achieve strike-rates in excess of 87%. And using our recommended laying techniques, many of our subscribers are achieving regular long-term profits from our services.

So what are the differences between the 2 services:

www.GreyhoundLays.co.uk is our oldest service (started in February 2007) and provides typically 8-12 daily selections. We have established a long-term average strike-rate of 87.8% and the results are very consistent. This is our most popular service.

Because our recommended laying technique requires that layers should only lay 2-3 randomly-selected selections per day from the total number given, we find that many people find this a very difficult thing to do. So indoctrinated are people by services that instruct you to lay every selection given that they find our technique difficult to accept - even though we have shown several times in the videos on www.GreyhoundLays.co.uk that such a technique produces profits.

It is because of this problem that we have now introduced Greyhound Lays Lite.

With this service, there will be a maximum of one lay selection per race meeting. In short,
a total of only 6-7 selections per day.

How should I lay the selections?

Just as with our Greyhound Lays service, you should lay only 2-3 of all the selections given, provided that you stick to the maximum odds limit that we suggest.

Alternatively, you may wish to only lay the first selection that occurs after a winning dog (ie an unsuccessful lay). this has a very high strike-rate.

You should keep your lays below Betfair odds of 9.0. Although the Betfair greyhound market can be very volatile, it should be possible to lay most of the selections.

How much should I stake?

We recommend that you lay each selection to a fixed liability that is between 3% and 5% of your betting bank. So if your bank is £500, then you would lay each selection to a liability between £15 and £25. We would advise that you stick close to the 3% figure if you are new to laying and/or wish to be very cautious with your betting. You would use a liability nearer the 5% figure if you a more 'adventurous' layer.

As your betting bank increases, then you would increase your liability per race by using the new figure that 3%-5% of your increased betting bank produces. How frequently should you recalculate your liability figure? Well, that is up to you. You could make it daily, weekly, or even after every race.

Naturally, if your betting bank does decrease at any time, then you would reduce your liability per race.

Which of your 2 services is the best? And are all the lays of equal strength?

Both Greyhound Lays and greyhound Lays Lite are showing high long-term strike-rates. of the 2 services, we would say that Greyhound Lays lite is the stronger service.

All of our lay selections are of equal strength.

Why are no lay odds figures provided as part of the Results table?

Our usual answer to this frequently-asked question is: "Which odds figure should we use?"

We could (as some other services do) quote the SP. But this would be highly misleading because - as anyone who has experience of the Betfair greyhound market knows - the actual lay odds that can be achieved on Betfair can be very different from the SP.

And we cannot quote a Betfair lay odds figure because that would also be misleading. Given the volatility of the greyhound market, there is no 'standard' lay price that we could give. For example, we could lay a dog at 4.0 in a particular race and then the price could rapidly drift to 7.0 where most of the bets are matched. So should we quote the 4.0 figure or the 7.0 figure, or some other figure?

Hopefully, you can understand the problem. We have received criticism for not providing any sort of price information with our Results, but most people doing the criticising simply don't have any real experience of how to successfully lay greyhounds.

Can I use these selections with my betting bot and when are the selections posted?

You certainly can use these selections with your bot. We aim to have selections posted by 7am every morning (except Sundays).

Should I use any sort of loss-recovery system when losses occur?

We do not recommend using any sort of loss-recovery system because - in our experience - they invariably end in tears!

With so few selections each day won't prices be affected with all subscribers trying to lay the same dogs?

This would be a problem if we were not taking steps to strictly limit the number of subscribers.
